Currently, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Hardware Technician to join our team. Job Description: As a Hardware Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing computer hardware and peripherals to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Your role will involve: Hardware Installation and Setup: Install and configure desktop computers, laptops, servers, and networking equipment according to client specifications and requirements. Set up and connect peripheral devices, such as printers, scanners, monitors, and external storage devices, to the computer systems. Hardware Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks on computer hardware, including cleaning, dusting, and replacing worn-out components, to prevent malfunctions and extend equipment lifespan. Diagnose hardware problems, troubleshoot system errors, and replace faulty components, such as RAM, hard drives, power supplies, and motherboards, to restore functionality. Hardware Upgrades and Enhancements: Upgrade hardware components, such as RAM, hard drives, graphics cards, and processors, to improve system performance and meet evolving user requirements. Install firmware updates, BIOS updates, and device drivers to ensure compatibility and security compliance. Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support and assistance to end-users via phone, email, or in-person to diagnose and resolve hardware-related issues and inquiries. Troubleshoot hardware failures, connectivity issues, and system crashes to identify root causes and implement appropriate solutions. Inventory Management: Manage inventory of computer hardware, spare parts, and components, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely replenishment. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to procure replacement parts and equipment as needed for maintenance and repair tasks. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of hardware installations, repairs, upgrades, and service calls in service logs or ticketing systems. Generate service reports, performance metrics, and documentation for internal tracking and customer communication. Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Hardware Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Hardware Technician, Computer Technician, or similar role, preferably in an IT services environment. Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware components, peripherals, and networking devices. Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware problems and system errors. Experience with hardware repair tools, diagnostic software, and maintenance procedures. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client locations for onsite service calls.
