Job Description: As a Computer Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance services for computer systems, peripherals, and networks. Your role will involve: Hardware Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware components, including CPUs, RAM, hard drives, graphics cards, and peripherals such as printers, scanners, and monitors. Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, dusting, and replacing worn-out parts, to ensure optimal performance and longevity of computer systems. Software Installation and Configuration: Install, upgrade, and configure operating systems, software applications, and drivers on desktops, laptops, and servers. Perform software updates, patches, and security enhancements to protect against vulnerabilities and ensure system stability. Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person to resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues promptly. Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software problems, identify root causes, and implement appropriate solutions to restore functionality and minimize downtime. Network Setup and Administration: Set up and configure local area networks (LANs), wireless networks, and internet connections for clients. Perform network diagnostics, analyze network performance, and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure reliable network operations. Data Backup and Recovery: Implement data backup solutions and schedules to safeguard critical business data and prevent data loss. Conduct data recovery procedures in the event of hardware failures, system crashes, or accidental data deletion to restore data integrity and availability. Customer Service and Relationship Management: Interact with clients professionally and courteously, providing excellent customer service and support throughout the service delivery process. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their IT needs and concerns effectively and fostering long-term client loyalty. Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Computer Technician, IT Support Specialist, or similar role. Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and networking fundamentals. Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and configuration (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) preferred.
