We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team in Kottayam. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate accounting records, and providing financial insights to support decision-making. Responsibilities: Financial Recording: Record and maintain accurate accounting records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations. Ensure that all financial transactions are properly documented and recorded in compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections. Monitor budgetary performance and variances, analyze financial data, and provide insights and recommendations to improve financial efficiency and profitability. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Present financial performance metrics and analysis to management for review and decision-making. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely payment processing and resolve billing discrepancies as needed. Follow up on overdue accounts receivable and implement collection strategies to maintain healthy cash flow. Payroll Processing: Process payroll accurately and timely, including calculating employee wages, deductions, and taxes. Prepare payroll reports, reconcile payroll accounts, and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and statutory requirements. Tax Compliance: Prepare and file periodic tax returns, including GST, TDS, and income tax returns, in compliance with statutory regulations and deadlines. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure timely compliance to avoid penalties or fines. Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and explanations of financial transactions and accounts. Collaborate with auditors to address audit findings and implement corrective actions as needed. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and performance evaluations to assess the company's financial health, profitability, and operational efficiency. Identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement and recommend strategies to optimize financial performance. Financial Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Implement best practices in accounting and financial management to enhance efficiency and compliance. Ad hoc Projects: Support management with special projects, financial analyses, and strategic initiatives as assigned. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making and business growth objectives. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Professional certification such as CA, CPA, or CMA is preferred. Proven experience (3-5 years) in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a corporate or commercial setting. Proficiency in accounting software applications, such as Tally ERP, QuickBooks, or SAP. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and taxation laws and regulations in India. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in financial analysis, reporting, and reconciliation. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel for financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
