Responsibilities: Menu Planning: Collaborate with the head chef or kitchen manager to plan and develop Chinese menu offerings based on customer preferences, seasonal ingredients, and culinary trends. Create innovative and diverse menus that showcase traditional and contemporary Chinese cuisine. Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a wide range of Chinese dishes, including stir-fries, noodles, fried rice, dumplings, soups, and sauces. Follow standardized recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistent quality and taste. Ingredient Selection: Source and select high-quality ingredients for use in Chinese cooking, including fresh produce, meats, seafood, and spices. Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients to maintain freshness and flavor. Cooking Techniques: Utilize traditional Chinese cooking techniques, such as stir-frying, steaming, deep-frying, braising, and roasting, to enhance the flavor and texture of dishes. Monitor cooking temperatures and times to achieve desired results. Presentation: Plate and garnish Chinese dishes attractively to enhance visual appeal and create an authentic dining experience for customers. Pay attention to portion sizes and presentation techniques to ensure consistency and professionalism. Food Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handwashing, food storage, temperature control, and cleaning procedures. Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times. Quality Control: Conduct quality checks on prepared dishes to ensure adherence to recipe specifications, taste standards, and presentation guidelines. Address any quality issues promptly and take corrective actions as needed. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other kitchen staff, including sous chefs, cooks, and assistants, to coordinate food preparation activities, prioritize tasks, and maintain efficient workflow during peak hours. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of Chinese ingredients and supplies, and communicate any shortages or replenishment needs to the kitchen manager or purchasing department. Requirements: Proven experience (2-3 years) as a Chinese Cook or Chef in a restaurant or hospitality setting. In-depth knowledge of Chinese cuisine, ingredients, cooking techniques, and flavor profiles. Proficiency in preparing a wide range of Chinese dishes, including stir-fries, noodles, fried rice, dumplings, and soups. Strong culinary skills and attention to detail in food preparation, seasoning, and presentation. Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards, HACCP principles, and kitchen hygiene practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment and collaborate effectively with team members. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
