As a South Indian Cook, you will be responsible for preparing authentic South Indian dishes, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and contributing to the overall success of our kitchen operations. Responsibilities: Menu Planning: Collaborate with the head chef or kitchen manager to plan and develop South Indian menu offerings based on customer preferences, seasonal ingredients, and culinary trends. Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of South Indian dishes, including dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, rasam, chutneys, and traditional curries. Follow standardized recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistent quality and taste. Ingredient Selection: Select fresh and high-quality ingredients for use in South Indian cooking, including vegetables, grains, lentils, spices, and herbs. Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients to maintain freshness and flavor. Cooking Techniques: Utilize traditional South Indian cooking techniques, such as tempering (tadka), grinding, roasting, and pressure cooking, to enhance the flavor and aroma of dishes. Monitor cooking temperatures and times to achieve desired results. Presentation: Plate and garnish South Indian dishes attractively to enhance visual appeal and create an inviting dining experience for customers. Pay attention to portion sizes and presentation techniques to ensure consistency and professionalism.
