We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Hardware Technician to join our team in Kozhikode. As a Hardware Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing computer hardware components and peripherals to ensure the smooth operation of computer systems. Responsibilities: Hardware Installation: Install and configure computer hardware components such as motherboards, processors, memory modules, hard drives, optical drives, and expansion cards. Ensure compatibility and proper integration with existing systems. Peripheral Setup: Install, configure, and troubleshoot peripheral devices including printers, scanners, monitors, keyboards, mice, and external storage devices. Ensure connectivity and functionality with computer systems. Hardware Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on computer hardware to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Clean and dust computer components, inspect cables and connections, and replace worn or damaged parts as needed. Hardware Repair: Diagnose hardware issues and malfunctions through troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic tools. Repair or replace defective hardware components such as power supplies, fans, cooling systems, and cables. Hardware Upgrades: Upgrade hardware components to improve system performance and capabilities. Install additional memory, upgrade processors, or replace outdated components to meet user requirements and specifications. System Assembly: Assemble and disassemble computer systems and workstations according to specifications and user requirements. Ensure proper cable management and airflow to prevent overheating and optimize system performance. Testing and Evaluation: Conduct diagnostic tests and performance checks on computer hardware using testing tools and software utilities. Evaluate system performance and identify areas for improvement or optimization. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of hardware inventory, service requests, repairs, and upgrades performed. Document technical specifications, configurations, and serial numbers of hardware components. Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications for hardware installation, maintenance, and repair. Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace. User Support: Provide technical support and assistance to end-users on hardware-related issues. Troubleshoot hardware problems, provide guidance on proper use and maintenance, and escalate complex issues to senior technicians or management. Requirements: Diploma or certification in computer hardware engineering, electronics, or a related field. Proven experience (2-3 years) as a Hardware Technician or similar role, preferably in a technical support or IT service environment. Strong knowledge of computer hardware components, architectures, and assembly techniques. Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware issues using diagnostic tools and techniques. Familiarity with hardware testing tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic equipment. Excellent soldering and solder rework skills for repairing electronic components and circuit boards. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with end-users and technical team members. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to provide support during emergencies or system outages.
