We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Computer Technician to join our team in Kozhikode. As a Computer Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining computer hardware, software, and peripherals to ensure optimal performance and functionality. Responsibilities: Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Analyze computer systems, peripherals, and software applications to identify and resolve technical issues and malfunctions. Diagnose hardware and software problems through troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic tools. Hardware Repair and Maintenance: Repair and replace defective computer components such as motherboards, processors, memory modules, hard drives, and power supplies. Install and upgrade hardware components to improve system performance and reliability. Software Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and update operating systems, drivers, and software applications on computer systems. Ensure compatibility and compliance with system requirements and security protocols. Virus and Malware Removal: Scan computer systems for viruses, malware, and other security threats using antivirus and anti-malware software. Remove malicious software and implement security measures to protect against future infections. Data Backup and Recovery: Perform data backup operations to safeguard critical data and files from loss or corruption. Develop and implement data recovery strategies to retrieve lost or deleted data from backup archives or storage devices. Network Setup and Configuration: Assist in the setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of local area networks (LANs), wireless networks, and internet connections. Install network devices such as routers, switches, and access points. Peripheral Setup and Maintenance: Install, configure, and troubleshoot peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, monitors, and external storage devices. Ensure compatibility and proper integration with computer systems. User Support and Training: Provide technical support and assistance to end-users on computer-related issues, including hardware/software problems, network connectivity issues, and system errors. Offer training and guidance on computer usage and best practices. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of service requests, repairs, and solutions provided to users. Generate reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and inventory levels as required. Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance tests and performance checks on computer systems and components to ensure reliability, stability, and compliance with industry standards and specifications. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or diploma in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Proven experience (2-3 years) as a Computer Technician or similar role, preferably in a technical support or IT service environment. Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and networking principles. Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues using diagnostic tools and techniques. Familiarity with antivirus/anti-malware software, data backup and recovery solutions, and network troubleshooting tools. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with end-users and technical team members. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in identifying and resolving technical issues. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) are advantageous. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to provide support during emergencies or system outages.
