We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced North Indian Cook to join our culinary team in Kumily. As a North Indian Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of authentic North Indian dishes, showcasing the rich culinary heritage of the region. Your expertise in traditional cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and ingredient selection will contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests. Responsibilities: Menu Planning: Collaborate with the head chef or kitchen manager to develop menus featuring a diverse selection of North Indian dishes, including vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Incorporate seasonal ingredients and regional specialties to create innovative and appealing dishes. Food Preparation: Prepare and organize ingredients for cooking, including cleaning, cutting, chopping, and marinating. Follow recipes and portion sizes accurately to ensure consistency in flavor and presentation. Cooking Techniques: Utilize traditional North Indian cooking techniques, such as tempering spices, slow cooking, and clay oven (tandoor) cooking, to enhance the flavors and aromas of dishes. Monitor cooking temperatures and times to achieve optimal results. Dish Execution: Cook a variety of North Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori specialties, biryanis, bread (naan, roti), and desserts, according to established recipes and standards. Ensure that dishes are cooked to perfection and plated attractively. Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, freshness, and taste. Conduct regular taste tests and visual inspections of dishes to ensure adherence to quality standards. Address any issues or discrepancies promptly and implement corrective measures. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, and communicate with kitchen management to replenish stock as needed. Minimize waste and spoilage through efficient use of ingredients and proper storage practices. Team Collaboration: Coordinate with other kitchen staff, including sous chefs, assistants, and dishwashers, to ensure smooth workflow and timely preparation of orders. Communicate effectively and work collaboratively to meet service requirements. Customer Interaction: Interact with guests to understand their preferences, accommodate special requests or dietary restrictions, and provide recommendations on menu selections. Share knowledge and expertise to enhance the skills of team members. Requirements: Prior experience (3-5 years) as a North Indian Cook or Chef in a restaurant or hotel kitchen. Proficiency in preparing and cooking a wide variety of North Indian dishes, including both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Thorough knowledge of North Indian culinary traditions, ingredients, and flavor profiles. Strong culinary skills, including mastery of tandoor cooking techniques and spice blending. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and interact with guests. Commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed in a hospitality setting.
