As a member of our faculty team, the Civil Engineering Faculty will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education, conducting research, and contributing to the academic and professional development of our students. Job Description: As a Civil Engineering Faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, conducting research, and providing academic guidance to students pursuing degrees in civil engineering. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the curriculum, delivering lectures, supervising projects, and mentoring students to help them develop essential skills and knowledge required for successful careers in civil engineering. Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the academic leadership team to develop and update the curriculum for civil engineering courses, incorporating industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in the field. Course Delivery: Prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, and practical sessions on various topics in civil engineering, including structural analysis, construction management, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, and environmental engineering. Laboratory Instruction: Supervise laboratory sessions and experiments to provide hands-on training to students in testing methods, materials analysis, and instrumentation techniques relevant to civil engineering practice. Project Supervision: Mentor students in their research projects, design projects, and internships, providing guidance, feedback, and support to help them develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Academic Advising: Provide academic advising and career guidance to students, assisting them in selecting courses, planning their academic pathways, and exploring internship and job opportunities in the civil engineering industry. Research and Scholarship: Conduct research in your area of expertise, publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals, and present research findings at conferences and symposiums to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in civil engineering. Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest developments in civil engineering theory, practice, and technology, participating in professional development activities, workshops, and seminars to enhance teaching effectiveness and research productivity. Community Engagement: Engage with industry partners, professional associations, and local communities to foster collaboration, facilitate knowledge exchange, and promote awareness of civil engineering issues and solutions. Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies in course delivery, assessment practices, and student support services to maintain academic excellence and program accreditation. Committee Service: Serve on departmental committees, academic councils, and faculty boards to contribute to decision-making processes, program planning, and institutional governance activities as required. Qualifications: Ph.D. or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field from a recognized institution. Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate or postgraduate level preferred. Professional engineering licensure or certification (PE, PEng, etc.) is an advantage. Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of civil engineering, such as structural engineering, transportation engineering, geotechnical engineering, or environmental engineering. Proficiency in engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, or similar programs. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
