Key Responsibilities: Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with local electrical codes and regulations. Perform routine inspections of electrical systems to identify and troubleshoot issues, such as wiring defects, circuit overloads, or equipment malfunctions. Diagnose electrical problems using testing devices such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and oscilloscopes, and implement appropriate solutions. Install and connect electrical components, including switches, outlets, circuit breakers, and fuse boxes, to ensure proper functionality. Plan and layout electrical wiring and circuits for new construction projects or renovations, following blueprints, diagrams, and specifications. Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as architects, engineers, and contractors, to coordinate electrical installations and ensure compliance with project requirements. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and equipment inventories. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Keep abreast of industry developments, new technologies, and advancements in electrical systems to enhance skills and knowledge. Provide guidance and assistance to apprentices or junior electricians as needed. Requirements: Proven experience working as an electrician, with at least 2-3 years of relevant experience in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program or vocational training is required. Valid electrician license issued by the State Electricity Board or relevant authority. Thorough knowledge of electrical principles, codes, and regulations governing electrical installations and maintenance. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently. Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for working with tools and equipment. Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and climbing. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed to respond to emergencies or meet project deadlines.
