Light Technician Job Opening in Kozhikode

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lighting Technician to join our team in Kozhikode. The Lighting Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various lighting systems for events, venues, and productions. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Installation and Setup: Install and set up lighting equipment, fixtures, and accessories according to event requirements and design specifications. Rig and position lighting fixtures, trusses, and cables safely and securely for optimal performance and visual impact. Operation and Programming: Operate lighting control consoles and software to program and control lighting cues, effects, and sequences during events and performances. Adjust lighting levels, colors, and effects in real-time to enhance the atmosphere and mood of the venue. Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance checks and inspections on lighting equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance. Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues or malfunctions in lighting systems, including fixtures, dimmers, cables, and connectors. Repair or replace faulty components, bulbs, or fixtures as needed to restore functionality and performance. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines for electrical work, lifting, and rigging to prevent accidents and injuries. Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards for electrical installations and equipment operation. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with event organizers, production teams, and other technical staff to coordinate lighting requirements and logistics. Communicate effectively with team members to execute lighting designs and cues accurately and efficiently. Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of lighting equipment, supplies, and spare parts, and track usage and availability for upcoming events. Order and replenish supplies as needed to ensure adequate stock levels and operational readiness. Documentation and Reporting: Keep detailed records of lighting plots, cue sheets, equipment specifications, and maintenance logs for future reference. Prepare post-event reports and evaluations to document successes, challenges, and areas for improvement. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in electrical or lighting technology is preferred. Proven experience as a Lighting Technician, Stagehand, or similar role in the entertainment or event industry. Strong technical knowledge of lighting equipment, control systems, and rigging techniques. Familiarity with lighting control software, such as GrandMA, Hog, or ETC EOS. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively. Physical stamina and the ability to work long hours, lift heavy equipment, and work at heights. Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and personalities. Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules and production demands.
