Process prescription orders accurately and efficiently, including entering prescriptions into the pharmacy computer system, verifying insurance information, and preparing medications for dispensing. Provide information to customers about prescription medications, over-the-counter products, and health-related products, including usage instructions, potential side effects, and drug interactions. Assist with inventory management tasks such as receiving, stocking, and rotating medications and supplies. Monitor pharmacy shelves and displays to ensure products are properly stocked, labeled, and priced. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area, including shelves, counters, and storage areas. Process customer transactions, including cash, credit card, and insurance payments, accurately and securely. Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries in a timely and courteous manner. Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure smooth workflow and efficient customer service delivery. Adhere to pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance with state and federal laws. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education or certification in pharmacy technician or healthcare-related field is preferred. Previous experience (X years) working in a retail pharmacy or customer service environment is preferred. Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, including prescription medications and over-the-counter products. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and colleagues. Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks such as medication labeling, data entry, and inventory management. Basic math skills and proficiency in using cash registers and computer systems.
