Responsibilities: Fit, repair, and replace tyres on various types of vehicles, including cars, trucks, vans, and motorcycles, following manufacturer specifications and safety standards. Inspect tyres for wear, damage, and punctures, using visual inspections, tread depth gauges, and other diagnostic tools, and recommend appropriate repair or replacement options to customers. Remove wheels from vehicles using hydraulic jacks or other lifting equipment, and mount and balance tyres on rims using tyre mounting machines and wheel balancers. Inflate tyres to recommended pressures using air compressors or tyre inflators, and ensure proper seating of tyres on rims to prevent leaks or flat spots. Align wheels and adjust wheel angles using alignment machines and laser-guided systems, ensuring optimal vehicle handling, steering, and tire wear patterns. Rotate tyres at regular intervals to promote even tread wear and extend tyre lifespan, following rotation patterns specified by vehicle manufacturers or customer preferences. Perform tyre-related services such as tyre rotation, wheel balancing, tyre puncture repair, tyre patching, and tyre sidewall damage repair as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tyre fitting area, including tyre racks, tools, equipment, and workstations, to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. Adhere to workplace health and safety regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots, and following safe lifting and handling practices. Assist customers with tyre selection, providing recommendations based on vehicle specifications, driving conditions, and budget considerations, and process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale (POS) systems. Requirements: Proven experience as a Tyre Fitter or Automotive Technician, with a minimum of [insert number of years] years of experience in tyre fitting, balancing, and repair operations. Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, address their inquiries or concerns, and provide helpful advice and recommendations. Physical stamina and strength to lift and move heavy tyres and wheels, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions (e.g., indoor/outdoor, hot/cold temperatures).
