We are currently seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Academic Consultant to join our team. The Academic Consultant will play a key role in advising students, developing academic plans, and supporting their educational journey. Responsibilities: Provide academic counseling and guidance to students, helping them explore educational options, set academic goals, and develop personalized academic plans. Conduct one-on-one consultations with students to assess their interests, strengths, and learning needs, and provide recommendations for suitable courses and programs. Assist students in selecting appropriate courses, majors, and electives based on their academic interests, career aspirations, and educational requirements. Explain academic policies, procedures, and requirements to students, including course registration, credit transfer, graduation requirements, and academic probation. Monitor students' academic progress and performance, tracking grades, attendance, and completion rates, and intervene as needed to address challenges and provide support. Collaborate with academic departments, faculty members, and support services to address student needs, facilitate communication, and promote academic success. Organize and facilitate academic workshops, seminars, and orientation sessions to educate students about academic resources, study skills, time management, and other relevant topics. Assist students with academic planning and course scheduling, ensuring they meet program requirements, prerequisites, and graduation timelines. Maintain accurate records of student interactions, academic plans, and counseling sessions, using student information systems or CRM software. Stay updated on academic program offerings, curriculum changes, and educational trends, and provide information and guidance to students accordingly. Collaborate with admissions teams to recruit and enroll new students, providing academic counseling and support during the admissions process. Provide support and advocacy for students facing academic challenges, including academic probation, course withdrawal, and academic appeals. Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities to enhance counseling skills, knowledge of academic policies, and student support services. Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality guidelines in all interactions with students, colleagues, and stakeholders. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, psychology, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred. Previous experience in academic advising, counseling, or student support services preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and stakeholders. Knowledge of academic programs, degree requirements, and educational pathways, preferably in higher education settings. Empathy, patience, and a student-centered approach to counseling and support. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in using student information systems, CRM software, and Microsoft Office suite. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and disciplines. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed, to accommodate student schedules and program requirements. Positive attitude, resilience, and commitment to supporting student success.
