We are currently seeking an experienced and talented South Indian Cook to join our culinary team and contribute to the creation of delicious and authentic South Indian dishes for our guests. Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a variety of South Indian dishes, including but not limited to dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, rasam, curries, chutneys, and rice dishes. Follow traditional South Indian recipes and culinary techniques to ensure authentic flavors and textures in each dish. Source and select high-quality ingredients, spices, and condiments for South Indian cooking, ensuring freshness and authenticity. Clean, wash, and chop vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients as required for cooking South Indian dishes. Grind and mix spices and masalas to create aromatic and flavorful blends for use in South Indian curries and gravies. Operate and maintain kitchen equipment and appliances used in South Indian cooking, such as grinders, blenders, tawas, and pressure cookers. Monitor cooking temperatures, times, and techniques to achieve optimal results and maintain food quality and consistency. Coordinate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely preparation and service of South Indian dishes to guests. Plate and garnish South Indian dishes attractively and ensure proper portion sizes and presentation standards are met. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, including work surfaces, utensils, equipment, and storage areas, in accordance with food safety regulations. Assist in inventory management and stock control of South Indian ingredients, spices, and supplies. Follow kitchen policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including proper handling and storage of food items and adherence to hygiene standards. Requirements: Proven experience as a South Indian Cook or similar role, with expertise in preparing a wide range of South Indian dishes. In-depth knowledge of South Indian culinary traditions, ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques. Ability to follow traditional recipes accurately and adjust seasoning, flavors, and ingredients as needed. Strong culinary skills and creativity to innovate and develop new South Indian dishes and menu items. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils used in South Indian cooking, including grinders, tawas, and pressure cookers. Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with other kitchen staff and servers to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for extended periods, lift heavy pots and pans, and perform repetitive tasks. Positive attitude and passion for South Indian cuisine, with a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes and customer satisfaction. Food safety certification or training is preferred but not required.
