As a South Indian Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing and presenting delicious South Indian dishes to our guests, contributing to the success and reputation of our restaurant.Your primary goal will be to ensure that all dishes are prepared with precision, consistency, and attention to detail, delighting our guests with authentic flavors and culinary excellence. This role requires culinary expertise, creativity, and a passion for South Indian cuisine. Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a wide range of South Indian dishes, including dosas, idlis, vadas, uttapams, sambar, rasam, chutneys, curries, and rice dishes. Follow traditional recipes and cooking techniques to ensure authenticity and quality in each dish. Ensure that all ingredients are fresh, properly portioned, and prepared according to recipe specifications. Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of orders during service hours. Monitor food inventory and stock levels, notifying the supervisor when ingredients need to be replenished. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including work surfaces, equipment, utensils, and storage areas. Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items. Follow kitchen policies and procedures related to food preparation, sanitation, and safety at all times. Collaborate with other kitchen staff members to ensure a positive and productive work environment. Assist with menu planning, recipe development, and special promotions as needed. Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and dietary restrictions professionally and accommodate them to the best of your ability. Uphold high standards of presentation, flavor, and consistency in all dishes served to guests. Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance culinary skills and stay updated on industry trends. Follow established portion control guidelines to minimize food waste and maximize profitability. Contribute to the overall success and reputation of the restaurant by delivering exceptional culinary experiences to guests. Requirements: Previous experience as a South Indian Cook or in a similar role in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is required. Strong knowledge of South Indian cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques. Culinary training or certification from a recognized culinary school or institution is preferred. Creativity and passion for cooking, with the ability to innovate and develop new recipes and menu items. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Attention to detail and precision in food preparation and presentation. Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot and humid kitchen environment. Positive attitude, teamwork, and willingness to collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed. Commitment to upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and food safety. Fluency in Malayalam and basic proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
