Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a variety of snacks, including but not limited to, samosas, pakoras, cutlets, bondas, vadas, sandwiches, rolls, and chaats, following standardized recipes and preparation techniques. Ensure that all ingredients are fresh, properly portioned, and prepared according to established recipes and quality standards. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including fryers, grills, ovens, stovetops, and food processors, maintaining cleanliness and adherence to food safety protocols. Monitor cooking times, temperatures, and presentation of snacks, ensuring that they are cooked to perfection and served hot, fresh, and appealing to customers. Prepare and assemble ingredients for snacks, such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, mixing batters, and shaping doughs, with attention to detail and consistency. Coordinate with other kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and assistants, to ensure smooth workflow, timely preparation, and service of snacks during peak hours and special events. Plate and garnish snacks attractively, adding finishing touches and decorative elements to enhance their visual appeal and presentation to customers. Ensure that all food products meet quality and safety standards, including proper storage, handling, and labeling of perishable items, and adherence to hygiene regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the snack preparation area, including workstations, countertops, utensils, and equipment, by following cleaning schedules and sanitation procedures. Assist in inventory management, including stock rotation, restocking supplies, and monitoring ingredient levels, to ensure availability of ingredients and minimize waste. Follow food portioning guidelines and portion control measures to manage food costs effectively and maximize profitability. Uphold company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations at all times, promoting a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and excellence in the kitchen. Provide input and suggestions for menu development, recipe refinement, and process improvements to enhance the quality and variety of snack offerings. Collaborate with front-of-house staff, including servers, bartenders, and cashiers, to ensure seamless coordination and communication between the kitchen and dining areas. Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and willingness to assist colleagues as needed. Requirements: Prior experience as a Snacks Maker, Cook, Chef, or similar role in a restaurant, café, or food service establishment is preferred but not required. Passion for food and culinary arts, with knowledge of Indian snacks, street food, and regional cuisine. Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure, multitask, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Strong attention to detail, creativity, and presentation skills, with the ability to plate snacks attractively and enhance their visual appeal. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the restaurant's operating hours and service demands. Basic math skills and proficiency in portion control, recipe scaling, and food costing calculations. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen. Physical stamina and endurance to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks as required in a kitchen environment.
