You will work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and uphold our standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Responsibilities: Operate commercial dishwashing equipment, including dishwashers, washers, and sanitizing machines, according to established procedures and safety guidelines. Sort, stack, and load dirty dishes, utensils, glassware, and kitchen equipment into the dishwasher, ensuring efficient use of space and proper positioning for thorough cleaning. Add detergent, rinse aids, and sanitizing agents to the dishwasher as needed, following manufacturer instructions and safety protocols. Monitor dishwashing cycles, temperatures, and chemical levels to ensure effective cleaning and sanitization of dishes and utensils. Remove clean dishes from the dishwasher, inspect them for cleanliness and quality, and stack them properly for storage or use. Hand wash and scrub pots, pans, and other large kitchen items that cannot be cleaned in the dishwasher, using appropriate cleaning agents and tools. Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, countertops, sinks, and workstations to maintain a hygienic and orderly work environment. Empty and clean trash receptacles, dispose of waste, and replace trash liners as needed to keep the kitchen area clean and organized. Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and washing fruits and vegetables, as directed by the chef or kitchen supervisor. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the dishwashing area, including equipment, storage shelves, and floor surfaces, following sanitation standards and safety protocols. Follow proper procedures for handling and storing clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment to prevent contamination and ensure food safety. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and management to coordinate dishwashing tasks, prioritize items, and support kitchen operations. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct, including punctuality, attendance, and professionalism. Report any equipment malfunctions, maintenance issues, or safety hazards to the kitchen supervisor or management promptly. Participate in training sessions, meetings, and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge in dishwashing techniques, sanitation practices, and food safety. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a kitchen support role is preferred. Knowledge of dishwashing techniques, equipment, and chemicals used in commercial kitchens. Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and priorities. Physical stamina and the ability to stand, bend, lift, and carry items for extended periods. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation standards. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required. Fluency in Malayalam; proficiency in English or other languages is an advantage. Basic knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation guidelines.
