Follow established cooking methods, techniques, and procedures to achieve desired flavors, textures, and appearances in South Indian dishes. Season and spice dishes appropriately, balancing flavors and aromas to create authentic and delicious South Indian cuisine. Coordinate with the kitchen team to plan menus, develop recipes, and manage inventory of ingredients, supplies, and equipment. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, including food preparation areas, cooking equipment, utensils, and storage areas, in compliance with health and safety regulations. Monitor cooking times and temperatures, adjust heat levels, and use cooking equipment efficiently to ensure food is cooked to perfection. Plate and garnish dishes attractively, using traditional serving vessels and garnishes, and ensure proper portion sizes and presentation standards.
