As part of our team, Dishwashers play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly by maintaining clean and sanitary dishes, utensils, and equipment. Job Description: The Dishwasher will be responsible for washing dishes, glassware, utensils, and cooking equipment used in the kitchen and dining areas. This role involves working efficiently to keep up with the pace of a busy kitchen, ensuring that all items are cleaned thoroughly and sanitized according to food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to work as part of a team. Key Responsibilities: Sort and rinse dirty dishes, utensils, and glassware, removing food debris and residue before placing them in the dishwasher. Load and unload dishwashing machines, ensuring that items are arranged properly and that racks are filled to capacity to maximize efficiency. Operate dishwashing equipment, including dishwashers, sinks, and sanitizing stations, according to manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines. Use appropriate cleaning agents and sanitizers to wash and disinfect dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, following established procedures and protocols. Hand wash and scrub pots, pans, and cooking utensils that cannot be cleaned in the dishwasher, using hot water, soap, and scrub brushes as needed. Inspect cleaned dishes and utensils for cleanliness and quality, re-washing or re-rinsing items as necessary to ensure thorough sanitation. Empty and clean dishwasher filters and traps regularly to prevent clogs and maintain optimal performance. Dispose of trash and recyclable materials in designated bins, following waste disposal guidelines and recycling protocols. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dishwashing area, including counters, sinks, floors, and storage areas. Assist kitchen staff with other tasks as needed, including food preparation, cleaning, and stocking supplies. Follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment, to prevent accidents and injuries. Uphold company standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and professionalism in all aspects of dishwashing and kitchen operations. Qualifications: Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role is preferred but not required. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Physical stamina and strength to stand for extended periods and lift and carry heavy trays of dishes and equipment. Attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning and sanitizing dishes and utensils. Strong work ethic and reliability, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
