As part of our team, the Chinese Cook will play a key role in preparing and cooking a variety of Chinese dishes to delight our guests. Job Description: The Chinese Cook will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting a diverse range of Chinese dishes, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts. This role involves working closely with the kitchen team to ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation. The ideal candidate will have experience in Chinese cuisine, a passion for cooking, and a creative approach to recipe development. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese dishes, including stir-fries, noodles, rice dishes, soups, and appetizers, according to traditional recipes and restaurant standards. Work closely with the head chef or kitchen supervisor to plan menu items, develop new recipes, and create seasonal specials that showcase authentic Chinese flavors and ingredients. Ensure that all food preparation and cooking activities are carried out efficiently and in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients, labeling of food items, and sanitation of cooking equipment and utensils. Monitor inventory levels of food ingredients and supplies, place orders for replenishment as needed, and minimize food wastage through careful portion control and inventory management. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate workflow, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely preparation and delivery of food orders to guests. Train and supervise kitchen assistants and line cooks in proper cooking techniques, portion control, and food presentation. Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and procedures, including proper handling and storage of raw and cooked food items, to prevent contamination and foodborne illnesses. Uphold company standards of culinary excellence, consistency, and customer satisfaction in all aspects of food preparation and presentation. Stay updated on current food trends, cooking techniques, and Chinese culinary traditions, and incorporate new ideas and innovations into menu offerings. Qualifications: Proven experience as a cook or chef specializing in Chinese cuisine. Knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles. Creative flair for recipe development and menu planning. Strong attention to detail and commitment to culinary excellence. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
