Job Description: The Tyre Fitter will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining tires on a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, SUVs, and commercial vehicles. This role involves mounting and balancing tires, performing tire rotations, alignments, and repairs, and providing expert advice and recommendations to customers regarding tire selection and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have experience in tire fitting, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities: Assist customers in selecting the appropriate tires for their vehicles based on size, type, brand, and driving preferences, taking into account factors such as terrain, weather conditions, and budget. Mount, balance, and install tires on vehicles using appropriate tools and equipment, ensuring proper alignment, fitment, and torque specifications are met. Perform tire rotations and wheel alignments to ensure even tire wear and optimal vehicle handling and performance. Inspect tires for signs of damage, wear, or irregularities, such as tread wear, punctures, bulges, and sidewall damage, and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements as needed. Repair punctured or damaged tires using patching, plugging, or vulcanizing techniques, following industry standards and safety protocols. Maintain accurate records of tire sales, installations, repairs, and inventory levels, using computerized systems or manual logs as required. Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the tire shop area, including cleaning equipment, disposing of waste materials, and organizing tire storage racks and inventory. Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers courteously, addressing their inquiries and concerns, and ensuring their satisfaction with tire services provided. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new tire products, and advancements in tire technology, and share knowledge and insights with colleagues and customers as needed. Uphold company standards of professionalism, integrity, and safety in all aspects of tire fitting and customer interactions. Qualifications: Previous experience as a tyre fitter, automotive technician, or in a similar role is preferred but not required. Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tire fitting tools and equipment, including tire changers, wheel balancers, and alignment machines. Knowledge of tire brands, sizes, types, and specifications, as well as tire maintenance and repair techniques. Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues. Physical stamina and strength to lift and maneuver heavy tires and equipment, as well as perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. Flexibility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed. Willingness to undergo training on tire fitting techniques, safety procedures, and company policies.
