Job Description: The Restaurant Captain will be responsible for overseeing the front-of-house operations, managing the service team, and ensuring that guests receive attentive and personalized service throughout their dining experience. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate front-of-house operations, including greeting guests, seating them, taking orders, and ensuring timely and accurate service. Train, mentor, and motivate service staff, including servers, host/hostesses, and buspersons, to provide excellent customer service and uphold company standards. Assign duties and responsibilities to service staff, such as seating arrangements, table setups, and service stations, to optimize efficiency and workflow. Monitor dining room activity, anticipate guest needs, and proactively address any issues or concerns to ensure a positive dining experience. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food orders, ensure timely delivery of dishes, and maintain quality and presentation standards. Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally, resolving issues and ensuring guest satisfaction. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, including tables, chairs, floors, and fixtures, to create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for guests. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including food handling and storage procedures, to maintain a clean and safe environment for guests and staff. Monitor inventory levels of dining room supplies, such as utensils, napkins, and condiments, and replenish as needed to support efficient service operations. Collaborate with management to develop and implement service standards, policies, and procedures to enhance the guest experience and improve overall restaurant performance. Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, including processing payments, providing change, and balancing cash registers at the end of shifts. Uphold company standards of professionalism, hospitality, and guest service in all interactions with guests and colleagues. Qualifications: Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role in the restaurant industry, such as Restaurant Captain, Head Waiter/Waitress, or Assistant Manager, is preferred. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve high standards of performance and guest satisfaction. Strong customer service orientation, with a genuine desire to exceed guest expectations and create memorable dining experiences. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
