The Automobile AC Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining air conditioning systems in automobiles. Responsibilities: Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Inspect and diagnose air conditioning systems in automobiles to identify issues, malfunctions, and defects. Use diagnostic tools, equipment, and techniques to troubleshoot problems accurately and efficiently. Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on automotive AC systems, including compressor replacement, refrigerant recharge, evaporator and condenser cleaning, hose and line repair, and component replacement. Ensure that all work is completed according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards. System Installation: Install new air conditioning systems in vehicles, including retrofitting older models with updated components. Follow installation procedures, wiring diagrams, and safety guidelines to ensure proper functioning and reliability of the AC system. Leak Detection and Repair: Identify and repair refrigerant leaks in automotive AC systems. Use leak detection tools and methods to locate leaks, seal or replace damaged components, and recharge the system with refrigerant. Performance Testing: Conduct performance tests and evaluations on automotive AC systems to assess cooling efficiency, temperature control, and overall functionality. Make adjustments and fine-tune system settings as needed to optimize performance and energy efficiency. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all repairs and maintenance tasks are completed to the highest quality standards. Conduct quality checks, inspections, and test drives to verify the integrity and functionality of AC systems before returning vehicles to customers. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and hours worked on each job. Document diagnostic findings, repair procedures, and customer communication in service reports and work orders. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service and communication throughout the repair process. Keep customers informed about the status of their vehicles, explain repair recommendations, and address any questions or concerns they may have. Requirements: Educational Qualification: High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training or certification in automotive HVAC systems is preferred. Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience working as an Automobile AC Technician or in a similar role. Proven experience with diagnosing and repairing automotive air conditioning systems is required.
