As a Snacks Maker, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of delicious and high-quality snacks, such as samosas, cutlets, pakoras, and other fried or baked snacks. Responsibilities: Food Preparation: Prepare a wide range of snacks according to established recipes and standards. This may include samosas, cutlets, bondas, bajjis, pakoras, vadas, and other popular snacks. Ingredient Selection: Select and portion ingredients accurately, ensuring freshness, quality, and consistency in taste and appearance. Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes to maintain product quality. Cooking Techniques: Utilize various cooking techniques, such as frying, baking, steaming, and grilling, to prepare snacks to perfection. Monitor cooking temperatures and times to ensure proper cooking and avoid overcooking or undercooking. Seasoning and Flavoring: Season snacks with spices, herbs, and condiments to enhance their flavor and appeal. Adjust seasoning levels based on customer preferences and feedback. Presentation: Plate snacks attractively and garnish them with fresh herbs, sauces, or accompaniments to enhance their visual appeal. Ensure that snacks are presented neatly and appetizingly for serving. Hygiene and Safety: Adhere to strict hygiene and food safety standards at all times. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients, utensils, and equipment. Follow proper handwashing and sanitation procedures. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies and communicate any shortages or replenishment needs to the kitchen supervisor or manager. Assist with stock rotation and storage to minimize waste and ensure freshness. Quality Control: Conduct quality checks on snacks throughout the cooking process to ensure they meet company standards for taste, texture, and appearance. Address any issues or deviations promptly to maintain quality consistency. Customer Service: Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently. Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate food preparation and delivery. Requirements: Culinary Skills: Strong culinary skills and a passion for cooking. Experience in preparing Indian snacks is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided. Creativity: Ability to innovate and create new snack recipes or variations while adhering to culinary standards and customer preferences. Attention to Detail: Attention to detail in food preparation, portioning, seasoning, and presentation. Ability to maintain consistency in taste and appearance of snacks. Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a kitchen team. Willingness to assist colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment. Adaptability: Flexibility to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and adapt to changing priorities and customer demands. Hygiene and Safety: Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
