We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Welder to join our team in Irinjalakuda. The Welder will be responsible for performing various welding tasks to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures, components, and equipment. This role requires expertise in welding techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures. Responsibilities: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to understand project requirements and specifications. Select and set up welding equipment, including gas metal arc welding (MIG), gas tungsten arc welding (TIG), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), according to the type of metal and welding process required. Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and beveling edges, removing rust, scale, and impurities, and positioning workpieces using clamps, jigs, or fixtures. Perform welding operations to join metal parts and components, applying appropriate welding techniques, filler materials, and shielding gases to achieve desired weld quality and strength. Monitor welding processes and equipment settings, adjusting parameters as needed to maintain proper arc stability, penetration, and deposition rate, while minimizing defects and distortion. Inspect welded joints and assemblies for conformance to specifications, using visual inspection, measuring tools, and non-destructive testing methods, such as dye penetrant or ultrasonic testing. Repair or rework defective welds or damaged metal components by cutting, grinding, and welding, following established repair procedures and quality standards. Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and replacing worn or damaged parts as necessary. Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, and exposure to hazardous materials, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and implementing safe work practices. Collaborate with other team members, including welders, fabricators, fitters, and supervisors, to coordinate workflow, prioritize tasks, and ensure project deadlines are met. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Certification or vocational training in welding from a recognized institution or apprenticeship program. Proven experience as a Welder, with a minimum of 2-3 years of welding experience in a manufacturing, construction, or fabrication environment. Proficiency in various welding processes and techniques, including MIG, TIG, SMAW, and OAW, with the ability to produce high-quality welds on a variety of metals, such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. Familiarity with welding codes and standards, such as AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, and ISO 9606, and the ability to interpret welding symbols and specifications. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to understand project requirements and layout dimensions. Strong attention to detail and precision in performing welding tasks, ensuring accuracy and quality in welded joints and assemblies. Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform welding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Knowledge of welding safety practices and procedures, including proper handling of welding equipment, use of PPE, and safe work habits. Positive attitude, teamwork skills, and a willingness to learn and adapt to changing work environments and project requirements.
