We are searching for a skilled and experienced Chinese Cook to join our culinary team in Kozhikode. The Chinese Cook will be responsible for preparing a variety of authentic Chinese dishes, including stir-fries, noodles, soups, dumplings, and appetizers. Responsibilities: Prepare a diverse range of Chinese dishes, including Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, and other regional specialties, following authentic recipes and culinary standards. Plan and organize daily food preparation tasks, including ingredient selection, portioning, and cooking methods, to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service. Coordinate with kitchen staff, Sous Chefs, and other team members to prioritize orders, manage food inventory, and maintain consistency in food quality and taste. Ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of food ingredients, equipment, and kitchen utensils, adhering to food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Monitor cooking temperatures, cooking times, and food presentation, adjusting techniques or recipes as needed to achieve desired flavors, textures, and visual appeal. Customize dishes based on customer preferences, dietary restrictions, or special requests, ensuring accuracy and consistency in portion sizes, seasoning, and cooking methods. Garnish dishes with appropriate condiments, herbs, or spices to enhance flavors and presentation, following traditional garnishing techniques and artistic plating styles. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including work surfaces, cooking equipment, and storage areas, to ensure a safe and hygienic work environment. Requirements: Proven experience as a Chinese Cook, Wok Chef, or similar role in a restaurant, hotel, or catering establishment. In-depth knowledge of Chinese cuisine, cooking techniques, spices, and ingredients, with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in preparing authentic Chinese dishes. Proficiency in using traditional Chinese cooking equipment, such as woks, cleavers, and steamers, as well as modern kitchen appliances. Strong culinary skills and a passion for cooking, with the ability to create delicious, visually appealing dishes that meet or exceed customer expectations. Familiarity with food safety regulations, sanitation guidelines, and kitchen hygiene practices, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards at all times.
