We are seeking a reliable and organized individual to join our team as a Godown Incharge in Ettumanoor. The Godown Incharge will be responsible for overseeing all activities related to the storage and management of goods in our warehouse or godown facility. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain inventory accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate all operations within the godown, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods. Ensure the efficient utilization of space within the godown, optimizing storage capacity and layout for maximum efficiency. Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of goods received against purchase orders or delivery notes. Inspect incoming goods for quality and quantity, reporting any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate departments. Organize and maintain inventory records, including stock levels, movements, and locations, using inventory management software or manual systems. Implement and enforce godown safety procedures, including proper handling of goods, use of equipment, and adherence to safety regulations. Supervise godown staff, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure productivity, accuracy, and adherence to company policies. Plan and prioritize daily activities within the godown, assigning tasks and deadlines to staff members as necessary. Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement, sales, and logistics, to ensure timely fulfillment of orders and efficient stock replenishment. Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies or shrinkage. Requirements: Proven experience in a similar role, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse or godown management. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to motivate and supervise a team of godown staff. Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management, with the ability to maintain precise records and identify discrepancies. Knowledge of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and dispatch procedures, as well as inventory control methods and best practices. Familiarity with inventory management software and computer literacy for data entry and record-keeping purposes. Understanding of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments. Flexibility to work extended hours, evenings, and weekends as needed to meet business demands. Diploma or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
