As a CCTV Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems for surveillance and security purposes. Your role involves setting up cameras, configuring recording devices, and ensuring the proper functioning of CCTV equipment. This position requires technical expertise in CCTV technology, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ensuring the security and safety of clients' premises. Responsibilities: CCTV Installation: Plan and execute the installation of CCTV systems, including cameras, monitors, DVRs/NVRs, cables, and power supplies, according to client specifications and project requirements. Mount and position CCTV cameras in strategic locations to achieve optimal surveillance coverage and minimize blind spots. System Configuration and Setup: Configure CCTV cameras, lenses, and recording devices to capture high-quality video footage and meet client's surveillance needs. Set up DVR/NVR systems, configure recording schedules, motion detection settings, and remote access features for real-time monitoring and playback. Cable Installation and Management: Install and route cables, including coaxial cables, Ethernet cables, and power cables, to connect CCTV components and ensure proper signal transmission. Manage cable runs, cable trays, and conduit installations to maintain neat and organized wiring layouts and comply with safety regulations. Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct comprehensive testing and calibration of CCTV systems to verify proper operation, camera alignment, and image quality. Troubleshoot technical issues, such as camera malfunctions, recording errors, and network connectivity problems, and implement corrective actions. Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning camera lenses, checking cable connections, and updating firmware/software, to ensure the reliability and longevity of CCTV systems. Respond promptly to service calls and emergency requests for CCTV repairs, diagnose problems, and perform onsite repairs or component replacements as needed. Documentation and Training: Document installation procedures, system configurations, and service records accurately for client reference and internal documentation. Provide training and support to clients on operating CCTV systems, accessing footage, and using software interfaces for playback and analysis. Qualifications and Skills: Diploma or certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as a CCTV Technician or in a similar role, with hands-on experience in CCTV system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. In-depth knowledge of CCTV equipment, camera types, lenses, DVRs/NVRs, and networking protocols. Proficiency in using CCTV testing tools, multimeters, and network diagnostic equipment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
