As a Computer Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance services for computer systems and peripherals. Responsibilities: Hardware Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware components, including CPUs, RAM, hard drives, motherboards, and peripherals such as printers, scanners, and monitors. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, dusting, and replacing worn-out parts to optimize performance and prolong equipment lifespan. Software Installation and Troubleshooting: Install, update, and configure operating systems, software applications, and drivers on computers and laptops. Troubleshoot software issues, including system crashes, software errors, and compatibility problems, and apply appropriate fixes and patches. Technical Support and Helpdesk Services: Provide technical assistance and support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person interactions, resolving hardware and software problems promptly and efficiently. Log and track support tickets, prioritize tasks, and escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support teams as needed. Network Configuration and Maintenance: Assist in setting up and configuring local area networks (LANs), including routers, switches, and wireless access points. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, perform network diagnostics, and assist in resolving network-related problems. Data Backup and Recovery: Implement data backup procedures and protocols to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity in case of hardware failure or data loss. Perform regular data backups, verify backup integrity, and assist in data recovery efforts when necessary. Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures, such as antivirus software, firewalls, and access controls, to protect computer systems from malware, viruses, and unauthorized access. Educate end-users on best practices for cybersecurity and data protection to minimize security risks and vulnerabilities. Qualifications and Skills: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Computer Technician or in a similar technical support role. Strong knowledge of computer hardware components, operating systems, and software applications. Familiarity with networking principles, protocols, and troubleshooting techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
