As a Dishwasher, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in our kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that all items used during food preparation and service are cleaned and sanitized efficiently to uphold hygiene standards. This position requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Dishwashing and Sanitization: Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and other kitchen items by hand or using dishwashing equipment. Ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned, rinsed, and sanitized to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illnesses. Stack and store clean dishes and utensils properly for easy access and organization. Kitchen Cleanup: Clean kitchen workstations, countertops, and sinks regularly to maintain cleanliness and prevent the buildup of dirt and grime. Empty trash cans and recycling bins, replace liners, and dispose of waste in designated containers. Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen and dishwashing area to keep them clean and free of debris. Assistance with Food Preparation: Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling vegetables, chopping ingredients, and portioning food items. Follow instructions from chefs and cooks regarding food handling, portion sizes, and preparation methods. Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain dishwashing equipment, including dishwashers, sinks, and drains, to ensure proper functioning and longevity. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to supervisors for timely repair or replacement. Compliance with Hygiene Standards: Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including handwashing procedures, personal hygiene standards, and proper use of cleaning chemicals. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves and aprons, when handling dirty dishes and cleaning chemicals. Qualifications and Skills: No specific educational qualifications are required; a high school diploma or equivalent may be preferred. Prior experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role in a restaurant or food service establishment is advantageous but not required. Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot and fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards. Team player attitude with the ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members.
