As a Radiographer, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients. Your responsibilities will include operating imaging equipment, capturing diagnostic images, and assisting radiologists and physicians in interpreting results. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radiographic techniques, patient care principles, and radiation safety protocols. Key Responsibilities: Diagnostic Imaging Procedures: Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, computed tomography (CT) scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and ultrasound examinations, according to established protocols and physician orders. Position patients correctly on imaging equipment and adjust settings to obtain clear and accurate images of the area of interest. Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate radiographic equipment, such as X-ray machines, CT scanners, MRI scanners, and ultrasound machines, ensuring proper functioning and calibration. Perform routine maintenance checks, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on imaging equipment, and report any technical issues to the appropriate personnel. Radiation Safety and Protection: Adhere to radiation safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines to minimize radiation exposure risks to patients, staff, and yourself. Use lead shielding devices and other protective measures to limit radiation exposure and maintain a safe working environment. Patient Care and Comfort: Provide compassionate care and support to patients undergoing imaging procedures, explaining the process, answering questions, and addressing concerns to alleviate anxiety and ensure cooperation. Position and immobilize patients as needed to obtain optimal imaging results while maintaining patient comfort and safety. Image Processing and Documentation: Process and review diagnostic images to ensure clarity, accuracy, and proper positioning, adjusting exposure settings or repeating images as necessary to obtain diagnostic quality. Maintain accurate records of patient information, imaging procedures, and technical parameters in electronic medical records (EMR) systems or imaging databases. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to review imaging results, discuss findings, and formulate treatment plans. Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and ensure seamless patient experiences. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree or diploma in Radiography or Medical Imaging Technology from a recognized institution. Registered Radiographer with the Kerala Paramedical Council or eligible for registration. Strong knowledge of radiographic techniques, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Proficiency in operating diagnostic imaging equipment and software systems. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
