As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations in a business or organization in Kannur. Your role involves maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial data, and providing insights to support decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, proficiency in accounting software, and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities: Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations. Record financial transactions, such as income, expenses, and asset acquisitions, in accordance with established accounting standards and procedures. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide management with insights into the company's financial performance. Analyze financial data and trends, identifying variances and discrepancies, and preparing reports to support decision-making and strategic planning. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts, collaborating with department heads and management to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Monitor budget performance, comparing actual results to budgeted projections and identifying areas for cost control or revenue enhancement. Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax, GST, and other applicable taxes, in compliance with local tax regulations and deadlines. Maintain records of tax payments, deductions, and credits, and ensure timely remittance of tax liabilities to relevant authorities. Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, providing documentation, explanations, and assistance as needed to facilitate the audit process. Implement recommendations from auditors to improve internal controls, financial reporting processes, and compliance with accounting standards. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and performance evaluations, interpreting financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as requested by management to support decision-making and strategic initiatives. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification such as CA, CPA, or ACCA is preferred but not required. Proven experience in accounting or financial management roles, with a strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to generate reports, analyze data, and perform calculations accurately and efficiently. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping and reporting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights to support decision-making. Additional Information: This is a full-time position based in Kannur, Kerala. Regular working hours may be required, with occasional overtime during month-end closing or peak periods.
