As a Car Polishing Technician, you will be responsible for restoring the exterior appearance of vehicles by performing polishing, waxing, and detailing services. Your role involves using specialized equipment and techniques to remove scratches, swirl marks, and imperfections from car paint surfaces, leaving a smooth and glossy finish. The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive detailing, strong attention to detail, and a passion for enhancing the appearance of vehicles. Key Responsibilities: Exterior Detailing: Inspect vehicles for surface imperfections, such as scratches, oxidation, or water spots, and assess the extent of polishing required. Wash and prepare car surfaces by cleaning dirt, debris, and contaminants using appropriate cleaning agents and techniques. Polishing and Buffing: Apply polishing compounds or abrasives to car paint surfaces using buffing machines, polishers, or hand tools to remove scratches and restore shine. Work on small sections of the vehicle at a time, applying even pressure and overlapping strokes to ensure uniform polishing results. Waxing and Sealant Application: Apply wax or sealant to car surfaces after polishing to protect the paint and enhance the shine. Use applicator pads or polishing machines to evenly distribute wax or sealant on the vehicle's exterior, following product instructions for best results. Trim and Tire Dressing: Dress rubber trims, moldings, and tires with suitable products to restore their appearance and protect against fading or cracking. Ensure that excess dressing is wiped off and surfaces are left clean and dry after application. Final Touches and Inspection: Inspect the vehicle for any remaining imperfections or streaks and perform additional polishing or touch-ups as needed. Clean and polish exterior glass surfaces, such as windows and mirrors, to remove smudges and ensure clarity. Qualifications and Skills: Prior experience in automotive detailing, car polishing, or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of polishing compounds, abrasives, waxes, and sealants used in car detailing. Familiarity with buffing machines, polishers, and detailing tools commonly used in the automotive industry. Strong attention to detail and the ability to achieve high-quality polishing results. Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions, including outdoor detailing.
