As a Dishwasher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that all items used in food preparation and service are cleaned thoroughly and promptly, allowing for efficient kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Dishwashing: Operate commercial dishwashing equipment, such as dishwashers and pot washers, to clean dishes, utensils, glassware, and kitchen equipment. Load dirty dishes into the dishwasher, ensuring that items are arranged properly to facilitate thorough cleaning. Handwashing: Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils by hand as needed, using dish soap, scrub brushes, and scouring pads to remove food residue and stains. Rinse cleaned items thoroughly to remove soap and detergent residue. Sanitization: Sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using hot water, sanitizing solutions, or commercial sanitizing equipment to kill bacteria and prevent contamination. Ensure that all items are properly sanitized and air-dried before storage or reuse. Organization: Sort and organize clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment in designated storage areas, such as dish racks, shelves, or storage cabinets. Keep dishwashing and kitchen areas clean and organized, removing trash and debris regularly to maintain a tidy work environment. Assistance in Kitchen: Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling vegetables, portioning ingredients, or assembling food trays, as needed during slower periods. Safety and Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines for handling kitchen equipment, cleaning chemicals, and hot water to prevent accidents or injuries. Adhere to sanitation and hygiene standards set by regulatory agencies and health authorities. Qualifications and Skills: Previous experience as a dishwasher or kitchen helper in a restaurant or food service establishment is preferred but not required. Physical stamina and the ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods during dishwashing tasks. Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong work ethic and reliability, with a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards. Flexibility in working hours to accommodate dishwashing schedules and operational needs.
