We are looking for experienced Tire Retreading Technicians to perform tire retreading processes efficiently and effectively. The Tire Retreading Technician will be responsible for inspecting, buffing, repairing, and retreading tires according to established standards and procedures, ensuring the quality and safety of the finished products. Responsibilities: Inspect used tires to determine their suitability for retreading, identifying any damage, wear patterns, or structural issues. Buff tire casings using specialized equipment to remove old tread rubber and prepare the surface for retreading. Apply new tread rubber to tire casings using hot or cold retreading processes, ensuring proper adhesion and alignment. Repair any tire damage, such as cuts, punctures, or sidewall damage, using patching materials and vulcanizing techniques. Operate retreading machinery and equipment, including tire buffing machines, tread applicators, curing chambers, and vulcanizing presses. Monitor retreading process parameters, such as temperature, pressure, and cycle times, to ensure consistent quality and adherence to specifications. Trim excess tread rubber and mold flash from retreaded tires, ensuring smooth and uniform tread profiles. Inspect finished retreaded tires for quality, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards, performing visual and tactile inspections. Test retreaded tires for balance and uniformity, making adjustments as needed to meet performance requirements. Maintain accurate records of tire retreading activities, including production volumes, materials usage, and quality control data. Clean and maintain retreading equipment and work areas to ensure safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency. Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental hazards in the workplace. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Proven work experience as a Tire Retreading Technician or in a similar role, preferably in a tire retreading facility. Knowledge of tire construction, tread patterns, and retreading processes. Familiarity with retreading machinery and equipment, including buffing machines, tread applicators, and curing chambers. Understanding of tire repair techniques, vulcanizing processes, and quality control standards. Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, work instructions, and safety procedures. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating machinery and performing precision tasks. Attention to detail and quality orientation, with a commitment to producing high-quality retreaded tires. Physical stamina and strength to lift and maneuver heavy tires and equipment. Teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a production environment.
