Responsibilities: Design and develop innovative Chinese menus that showcase authentic flavors and contemporary twists. Oversee all aspects of food preparation, including cooking, seasoning, and garnishing, to maintain consistency and quality. Lead and motivate kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and high culinary standards. Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen assistants in Chinese cooking techniques, recipes, and food safety practices. Source high-quality ingredients and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure freshness and availability. Manage inventory levels and control food costs to maximize profitability. Monitor kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and sanitation standards. Collaborate with restaurant management to develop promotional events, special menus, and themed nights. Stay updated on industry trends, new ingredients, and cooking techniques related to Chinese cuisine. Handle customer feedback and complaints related to Chinese dishes, striving for continuous improvement. Participate in recruitment efforts and assist in the selection and hiring of kitchen staff. Conduct regular menu tastings and evaluations to maintain a high standard of culinary excellence. Requirements: Proven work experience as a Chinese Chef or Head Chef in a reputable restaurant or hotel. Extensive knowledge of Chinese culinary traditions, ingredients, and cooking techniques. Creative flair and ability to develop innovative Chinese dishes while respecting traditional flavors. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate kitchen staff. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on efficiency and quality. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Certification or degree in culinary arts or a related field is preferred. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
