We are looking for a skilled and passionate South Indian Chef to oversee the preparation and presentation of our South Indian menu. The South Indian Chef will be responsible for creating innovative dishes, maintaining high culinary standards, and inspiring our kitchen staff to deliver excellence. Responsibilities: Develop and update the South Indian menu, incorporating traditional recipes and innovative twists to appeal to modern palates. Plan and oversee the preparation of all South Indian dishes, ensuring authenticity, flavor, and presentation. Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff in South Indian cooking techniques, recipes, and food safety standards. Lead by example in executing cooking techniques and maintaining quality control in food preparation. Source and select high-quality ingredients, spices, and produce for South Indian dishes, ensuring freshness and authenticity. Manage kitchen operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and cost control. Monitor food costs and portion sizes to maximize profitability without compromising quality. Collaborate with restaurant management to develop seasonal specials, promotions, and tasting menus. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen. Stay updated on industry trends, new ingredients, and cooking techniques related to South Indian cuisine. Handle customer feedback and complaints related to South Indian dishes, striving for continuous improvement. Work closely with suppliers and vendors to maintain strong relationships and negotiate favorable terms. Requirements: Proven work experience as a South Indian Chef or in a similar role, preferably in a high-end restaurant or hotel. In-depth knowledge of South Indian culinary traditions, ingredients, and cooking techniques. Creative flair and ability to develop innovative South Indian dishes while respecting traditional flavors. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire kitchen staff. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on efficiency and quality. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high culinary standards. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
