We are currently seeking a meticulous and efficient Laundry Ironing Attendant to join our team in Trivandrum. The Laundry Ironing Attendant will be responsible for ironing and pressing laundered garments, linens, and other textiles to ensure they are wrinkle-free and properly finished. The ideal candidate should have excellent ironing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Receive laundered garments, linens, and other textiles from washing and drying processes, and inspect them for cleanliness, stains, and damages before ironing. Set up ironing stations with steam irons, pressing machines, ironing boards, and other equipment, and ensure they are clean, safe, and in working condition. Sort and organize items based on fabric types, sizes, and ironing requirements, and prioritize tasks to meet customer demands and deadlines. Iron and press garments, linens, and other textiles using steam irons, pressing machines, or hand ironing techniques to remove wrinkles and creases. Apply appropriate heat settings, pressure levels, and ironing techniques based on fabric types, thicknesses, and garment styles to achieve desired results. Smooth out wrinkles, folds, and creases on garments, collars, cuffs, and seams, and ensure even pressing and finishing for a professional appearance. Pay attention to details such as buttons, zippers, and pleats, and maneuver around them carefully to avoid damaging garments during the ironing process. Check finished items for quality and presentation, and touch up any imperfections or missed spots to ensure uniformity and consistency. Fold, stack, or hang ironed items neatly and accurately, and package them for storage, delivery, or display according to established procedures. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the ironing area, including workstations, equipment, floors, and storage areas, and adhere to sanitation and safety standards. Keep track of inventory levels for ironing supplies, accessories, and maintenance items, and notify the supervisor when stock needs to be replenished. Follow established procedures for handling and disposing of soiled or contaminated items, and adhere to infection control protocols and hygiene standards. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred. Proven work experience as a Laundry Ironing Attendant, Presser, or similar role in a hotel, resort, commercial laundry facility, or similar environment. Excellent ironing skills and proficiency in using steam irons, pressing machines, and other ironing equipment to achieve smooth and wrinkle-free finishes. Ability to lift and carry heavy loads, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling delicate fabrics and maneuvering around buttons, zippers, and other details during ironing. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify wrinkles, creases, and imperfections in garments and linens. Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by business needs. Integrity, reliability, and a positive attitude towards work and colleagues. Fluency in Malayalam; proficiency in English or other languages is an advantage.
