We are currently seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Laundry Washing Attendant to join our team in Trivandrum. The Laundry Washing Attendant will be responsible for washing, drying, folding, and ironing laundry items according to established procedures and standards. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Sort laundry items by type, color, and fabric content, and inspect garments for stains, damages, or special care instructions before washing. Load and unload washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment, and select appropriate wash cycles, water temperatures, and detergent quantities based on fabric types and soil levels. Operate laundry equipment, including washing machines, dryers, steamers, and ironing presses, safely and efficiently to wash, dry, and finish laundry items. Add laundry detergents, fabric softeners, and stain removers to washing machines as needed, and monitor wash cycles to ensure proper cleaning and rinsing. Remove washed laundry from machines, transfer to dryers or drying racks, and monitor drying cycles to prevent over-drying or shrinkage of fabrics. Inspect laundered items for cleanliness, stains, tears, or damages, and rewash or treat stains as necessary to achieve desired results. Fold, stack, and organize clean laundry items neatly and accurately, and prepare them for storage, packaging, or delivery to customers. Iron or press garments, linens, and other fabrics using steam irons, pressing machines, or hand ironing techniques to remove wrinkles and creases. Mend, sew, or repair damaged garments and linens as needed, and replace missing buttons, zippers, or closures to ensure quality and presentation. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the laundry area, including workstations, equipment, floors, and storage areas, and adhere to sanitation and safety standards. Keep track of inventory levels for laundry supplies, detergents, and cleaning agents, and notify the supervisor when stock needs to be replenished. Follow established procedures for handling and disposing of soiled or contaminated laundry, and adhere to infection control protocols and hygiene standards. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred. Proven work experience as a Laundry Attendant, Laundry Assistant, or similar role in a hotel, resort, commercial laundry facility, or similar environment. Knowledge of laundry procedures, techniques, and equipment operation, including washing machines, dryers, ironing presses, and steamers. Ability to lift and carry heavy loads, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling delicate fabrics and operating laundry equipment. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify stains, damages, and special care instructions on garments and linens. Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by business needs. Integrity, reliability, and a positive attitude towards work and colleagues. Fluency in Malayalam; proficiency in English or other languages is an advantage.
