We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Optometrist to join our eye care team in Trivandrum. The Optometrist will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye exams, diagnosing vision problems, prescribing corrective lenses, and offering personalized eye care solutions to patients of all ages. The ideal candidate should have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity tests, refraction tests, eye muscle tests, and binocular vision assessments, to evaluate patients' vision and ocular health. Diagnose and treat common vision disorders, refractive errors, and ocular conditions, such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia, and dry eye syndrome. Prescribe and dispense eyeglasses, contact lenses, and low vision aids based on patients' visual needs, lifestyle preferences, and ocular health status. Conduct specialized tests and assessments, such as visual field testing, color vision testing, corneal topography, and optical coherence tomography (OCT), to assess ocular health and detect abnormalities or diseases. Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing refractive surgery, cataract surgery, or other ocular procedures, including conducting pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-up visits. Educate patients about proper eye care practices, including hygiene, nutrition, UV protection, and lifestyle modifications to promote eye health and prevent vision problems. Collaborate with other eye care professionals, such as ophthalmologists, opticians, and orthoptists, to coordinate patient care and referrals as needed. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, examination findings, diagnostic test results, and treatment plans, using electronic health records (EHR) systems. Stay updated on advances in optometry, new technologies, and emerging treatment options through continuing education, professional development, and participation in conferences and seminars. Adhere to professional and ethical standards of practice, including patient confidentiality, informed consent, and compliance with regulatory requirements and professional guidelines. Provide excellent customer service by building rapport with patients, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their comfort and satisfaction throughout their visit. Participate in marketing and promotional activities to attract new patients, increase practice visibility, and promote eye health awareness in the community. Requirements: Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school is required. Valid license to practice optometry in the state of Kerala. Previous work experience as an Optometrist in a clinical or retail setting is preferred. Strong clinical skills, including proficiency in conducting eye exams, diagnosing vision disorders, and prescribing corrective lenses. Knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, pathology, and pharmacology, as well as familiarity with common eye diseases and treatment modalities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients, explain complex concepts in simple terms, and collaborate effectively with colleagues. Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tests, interpreting results, and documenting patient encounters. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with a patient-centered approach to care. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, based on clinic hours and patient appointments. Positive attitude, professionalism, and a commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients. Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and other technology tools for documentation, billing, and communication.
