We are looking for a talented and experienced South Indian Chef to join our culinary team in Palakkad. The ideal candidate should be passionate about South Indian cuisine and possess exceptional cooking skills to create authentic and delicious dishes. The South Indian Chef will lead the kitchen in preparing and presenting traditional South Indian delicacies while maintaining high standards of quality, taste, and presentation. Responsibilities: Plan and execute the menu for South Indian cuisine, including a variety of dishes such as dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, rasam, curries, and chutneys. Develop innovative recipes while staying true to the authenticity of South Indian flavors and cooking techniques. Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operation. Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff on South Indian cooking techniques and standards. Ensure that all food preparation and cooking processes comply with food safety and sanitation regulations. Monitor inventory levels and order ingredients and supplies as needed to maintain freshness and quality. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper storage of food items and utensils. Collaborate with the management team to develop new menu items and seasonal specials. Respond promptly and effectively to customer feedback and special requests. Adhere to cost-control measures to optimize kitchen expenses while maintaining quality standards. Requirements: Proven experience as a South Indian Chef or Head Chef specializing in South Indian cuisine, preferably in a reputable restaurant or hotel. In-depth knowledge of South Indian culinary traditions, ingredients, and cooking techniques. Creative flair and passion for experimenting with flavors and ingredients to create innovative dishes. Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage kitchen staff and coordinate with other departments. Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure during busy periods. Certification from a culinary institute or equivalent training in South Indian cuisine is highly desirable. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
