Operation of Sewage Treatment Plant: Operate and maintain the sewage treatment plant according to standard operating procedures. Monitor and control plant operations to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards. Adjust treatment processes and chemical dosages as needed for optimal performance. Daily Inspections and Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of equipment, pumps, motors, and other plant machinery. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as greasing, cleaning, and replacing parts. Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime. Water Quality Testing: Collect samples of wastewater for testing and analysis. Conduct various water quality tests including pH, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, etc. Record and interpret test results, adjusting treatment processes accordingly. Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of plant operations, maintenance activities, and test results. Prepare reports on plant performance, compliance, and any incidents. Ensure all necessary permits and documentation are up to date and in compliance with regulations. Safety and Environmental Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Implement and follow environmental procedures to prevent pollution and ensure compliance with regulations. Participate in safety training programs and promote a culture of safety among plant staff. Team Collaboration: Coordinate with other plant operators and maintenance staff to ensure efficient plant operations. Communicate effectively with supervisors and managers regarding plant performance and maintenance needs. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in wastewater treatment is a plus. Proven experience as an STP Operator or similar role, preferably in a sewage treatment plant. Knowledge of sewage treatment processes, equipment, and maintenance procedures. Ability to operate and maintain pumps, motors, valves, and other plant equipment. Understanding of water quality parameters and testing methods. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Willingness to work in shifts and be on call for emergencies.
