As a Cashier in Thiruvalla, your primary responsibility is to handle customer transactions efficiently and accurately while providing excellent customer service. You will be responsible for processing payments, issuing receipts, and maintaining accurate records of cash transactions. Key Responsibilities: Customer Service: Provide friendly and courteous service to customers at the checkout counter. Greet customers, answer their questions, and assist them with their purchases. Cash Handling: Process customer transactions, including cash, credit/debit card, and digital payments, accurately and efficiently. Count cash in the register at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure the correct amount. Point of Sale (POS) Operation: Operate electronic cash registers and POS systems to scan and ring up merchandise, process payments, and generate receipts. Accurately enter product codes, prices, and discounts as needed. Payment Processing: Accept various forms of payment, including cash, checks, credit cards, and mobile payments. Verify the validity of payment methods and ensure transactions are processed securely. Bagging and Packaging: Bag or package customers' purchases as needed, ensuring items are handled with care and packaged securely to prevent damage. Assist customers with carrying items to their vehicles, if required. Refunds and Exchanges: Process refunds, exchanges, and returns according to store policies. Verify the condition of returned merchandise and issue refunds or store credits as appropriate. Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring inventory levels and restocking merchandise on the sales floor as needed. Alert supervisors to low stock levels or discrepancies in inventory counts. Cash Management: Maintain accurate records of cash transactions, including opening and closing cash balances, deposits, and petty cash disbursements. Reconcile cash register drawers and report any discrepancies or shortages to management. Security and Loss Prevention: Follow security procedures to prevent theft and fraud. Monitor customer behavior and report any suspicious activity or incidents to management. Cleanliness and Organization: Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and free of clutter. Ensure that all equipment, including cash registers and card readers, is in good working condition. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
