As a Chinese Cook in Thrissur, your primary responsibility is to prepare and cook authentic Chinese dishes with precision, consistency, and adherence to traditional recipes. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the culinary standards of the establishment and ensuring customer satisfaction with the quality and taste of the food. Key Responsibilities: Menu Planning: Collaborate with management to plan menus featuring a variety of Chinese dishes, including appetizers, soups, stir-fries, noodles, rice dishes, and desserts. Recipe Preparation: Prepare ingredients, sauces, and seasoning required for cooking Chinese dishes, following traditional recipes and portion sizes. Cooking Techniques: Utilize appropriate cooking techniques such as stir-frying, steaming, braising, deep-frying, and roasting to achieve authentic Chinese flavors and textures. Stir-Fry and Wok Cooking: Master the art of stir-frying and wok cooking, ensuring ingredients are cooked quickly over high heat to retain their freshness, color, and nutritional value. Sauce and Marinade Preparation: Prepare flavorful sauces, marinades, and seasoning blends using a variety of ingredients such as soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and Chinese spices. Dim Sum and Dumplings: Prepare a variety of dim sum items, dumplings, and steamed buns with skill and precision, ensuring proper folding and sealing techniques. Rice and Noodle Dishes: Cook rice dishes such as fried rice, steamed rice, and congee, as well as noodle dishes such as chow mein and lo mein, with the perfect balance of flavors and ingredients. Plating and Presentation: Plate and garnish dishes attractively, paying attention to presentation and portion sizes, and ensure that all food leaving the kitchen meets quality and presentation standards. Kitchen Hygiene: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and storage areas, and adhere to food safety standards and regulations. Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and service, communicate effectively, and ensure smooth operation of the kitchen. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Cook specializing in Chinese cuisine in a restaurant, hotel, or culinary establishment. In-depth knowledge of Chinese culinary traditions, ingredients, sauces, and cooking techniques. Proficiency in preparing a variety of Chinese dishes, including stir-fries, noodles, rice dishes, dim sum, and dumplings. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively. Excellent taste and palate, with the ability to season and adjust flavors accurately. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards and willingness to adhere to hygiene guidelines. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Physical stamina and dexterity to stand, walk, lift, and carry kitchen equipment and ingredients. Formal culinary education or certification in Chinese cuisine is preferred but not mandatory.
