As a Three-Wheeler Mechanic based in Trivandrum, your primary responsibility will be to diagnose, repair, and maintain three-wheeled vehicles such as auto-rickshaws, commonly known as "tuk-tuks" or "autorickshaws." Your role will be crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of these vehicles, which are widely used for transportation in urban and suburban areas. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and other issues in three-wheeled vehicles through visual inspection, diagnostic tools, and customer input. Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication to ensure optimal performance and longevity of vehicles. Conduct thorough inspections of brakes, suspension systems, steering mechanisms, and other critical components to identify potential safety hazards or areas requiring repair. Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment. Test drive vehicles after repairs to ensure proper functioning and address any remaining issues. Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair work performed on each vehicle, including parts used, labor hours, and diagnostic findings. Provide estimates to customers for repair costs and communicate effectively regarding the nature of repairs needed and any additional services that may be beneficial. Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and manufacturer specifications for three-wheeled vehicles to enhance expertise and service quality. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that tools, equipment, and parts are properly stored and maintained. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries in the workplace. Qualifications: Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably specializing in three-wheeled vehicles or similar automotive equipment. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and repair techniques. Certification or vocational training in automotive mechanics is preferred but not required.
