As a Dishwasher in Kozhikode, your primary responsibility will be to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in our kitchen by washing and sanitizing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. You will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff and ensuring smooth operations by keeping a steady supply of clean dishes and equipment. Below are the key responsibilities associated with this position: Dishwashing: Operating commercial dishwashing equipment, such as dishwashers and pot washers, to clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils according to established standards and procedures. Preparation and Sorting: Scraping, rinsing, and pre-soaking dirty dishes to remove food residue and prepare them for washing. Sorting and organizing items for efficient washing and storage, separating delicate items from heavy-duty items. Load Management: Loading dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment into dish racks or trays, ensuring proper spacing and alignment to allow for thorough cleaning and sanitization. Monitoring machine operation to ensure smooth functioning and adjust settings as needed. Chemical Handling: Handling and dispensing cleaning chemicals and detergents safely and appropriately, following manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines. Diluting chemicals to the correct concentration for effective cleaning and sanitization. Quality Control: Inspecting cleaned dishes and utensils for cleanliness and quality, removing any remaining food particles, stains, or residues as needed. Re-washing or re-sanitizing items that do not meet standards. Equipment Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining dishwashing equipment, including filters, spray arms, and interior surfaces, to ensure proper functioning and hygiene. Reporting any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the appropriate supervisor. Kitchen Cleaning: Assisting with general kitchen cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing floors, wiping down countertops and surfaces, and emptying trash bins, to maintain overall cleanliness and hygiene standards. Safety Compliance: Adhering to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations and procedures, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and following safe work practices. Team Collaboration: Communicating effectively with kitchen staff and supervisors to coordinate dishwashing tasks, prioritize workload, and ensure smooth operations in the kitchen. Providing assistance to other kitchen staff members as needed. Shift Coverage: Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the operational needs of the kitchen. Requirements: Prior experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role in a restaurant, hotel, or food service establishment is preferred but not required. Physical fitness and stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions accurately. Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude towards teamwork and cooperation. Fluency in English and proficiency in Malayalam would be an advantage.
