As a Restaurant Captain in Thiruvananthapuram (TVM), you will play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences and smooth operations within the restaurant. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: Guest Service: Providing excellent service to guests by greeting them upon arrival, escorting them to their tables, and ensuring their needs are met throughout their dining experience. Order Taking and Coordination: Taking orders accurately and efficiently, communicating them to the kitchen staff, and coordinating with the kitchen team to ensure timely delivery of food items. Menu Knowledge: Having a thorough understanding of the menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and special dishes, in order to make recommendations and answer any questions guests may have. Team Leadership: Leading and motivating the service team to deliver high-quality service and maintain a positive work environment. Providing guidance and support to team members as needed. Problem Resolution: Addressing any guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, and taking appropriate actions to resolve issues to the guest's satisfaction. Table Maintenance: Overseeing the cleanliness and organization of tables, including setting up and clearing tables efficiently, ensuring proper tableware and condiments are available, and maintaining a neat and tidy dining area. Upselling and Revenue Generation: Actively promoting menu items, specials, and promotions to increase sales and enhance the guest experience. Upselling additional items such as beverages, desserts, or appetizers when appropriate. Compliance and Safety: Adhering to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and hygienic environment for guests and staff. Following all relevant regulations and procedures, including those related to alcohol service. Training and Development: Assisting in the training and development of new team members, providing guidance on service standards, procedures, and product knowledge. Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels of supplies such as tableware, linens, and condiments, and notifying management when replenishment is needed. Requirements: Prior experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a fine dining restaurant environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and team members. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail. Leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu items, preparation methods, and service standards. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
