As part of our team, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Restaurant Captain to lead our service team and ensure outstanding guest satisfaction. Job Description: 1. Guest Service and Satisfaction: Welcome guests warmly, escort them to their tables, and provide menus and beverage options with thorough knowledge of the restaurant's offerings. Assist guests in selecting food and beverage items, making recommendations based on their preferences, dietary restrictions, and special requests. Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained throughout the dining experience, addressing any concerns or complaints promptly and effectively. 2. Team Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise the service team, including waitstaff, hosts/hostesses, and buspersons, to ensure smooth and efficient operations during service hours. Delegate tasks, assign sections, and coordinate staff schedules to optimize workflow and maximize guest satisfaction. 3. Order Management and Coordination: Oversee order taking, relay orders to the kitchen, and monitor order timing to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to guests. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and bartenders to ensure accurate preparation and presentation of menu items and beverages. 4. Upselling and Revenue Generation: Promote additional menu items, specials, and beverage offerings to guests to increase sales and enhance the dining experience. Encourage guests to explore new dishes, cocktails, and wine pairings, providing information and recommendations as needed. 5. Table Maintenance and Presentation: Monitor table turnover, ensure tables are set properly, and maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area throughout service hours. Attend to special requests and accommodations, such as seating preferences, celebrations, and special occasions, with attention to detail and hospitality. 6. Payment Processing and Settlement: Process guest payments accurately, including cash, credit/debit cards, and gift certificates, and provide receipts and change as required. Reconcile cash registers and settle accounts at the end of each shift, ensuring accuracy and compliance with cash handling procedures. 7. Training and Development: Train new service staff on restaurant policies, procedures, service standards, and product knowledge to ensure consistency and excellence in service delivery. Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to team members to enhance their skills, performance, and professional growth. Requirements: Previous experience as a Restaurant Captain, Head Waiter, or similar supervisory role in a fine dining restaurant or upscale establishment. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and manage a diverse team of service professionals. Excellent communication and customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor. Knowledge of food and beverage service techniques, wine pairings, and fine dining etiquette.
