As part of our technical team, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Hardware Technician to diagnose and resolve hardware issues and provide technical support to our clients. Job Description: 1. Hardware Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and troubleshoot a wide range of computer hardware components, including desktops, laptops, servers, printers, scanners, and peripherals, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance. Assemble and disassemble computer systems and hardware components, following technical specifications, manufacturer guidelines, and safety protocols. 2. Diagnostic Testing and Troubleshooting: Perform diagnostic tests and hardware diagnostics to identify and resolve hardware failures, malfunctions, and compatibility issues, using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and technical manuals. Troubleshoot hardware problems reported by end-users, analyzing symptoms, error messages, and system logs to diagnose root causes and implement effective solutions. 3. Hardware Repair and Maintenance: Repair or replace defective hardware components, such as motherboards, CPUs, RAM, hard drives, power supplies, and peripherals, utilizing soldering equipment, hand tools, and replacement parts. Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting hardware components, to prevent system failures and prolong the lifespan of equipment. 4. Hardware Upgrades and Installations: Upgrade hardware components, such as memory modules, storage devices, graphics cards, and network adapters, to improve system performance, expand storage capacity, and support new software applications. Install and configure hardware peripherals, including printers, scanners, monitors, and external storage devices, ensuring proper connectivity and functionality with computer systems. 5. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of hardware inventory, repairs, replacements, and service history, documenting actions taken, parts used, and warranty information in the ticketing system or maintenance log. Generate and submit reports on hardware maintenance activities, service requests, and equipment status to management and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for improvement. 6. Customer Support and Communication: Provide technical support and assistance to end-users via phone, email, remote desktop, or onsite visits, guiding them through troubleshooting steps, answering questions, and resolving hardware issues in a timely and professional manner. Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and vendors, providing updates on service requests, escalation of issues, and resolution status to ensure transparency and client satisfaction. Requirements: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Hardware Engineering, Electronics, or related field preferred. Proven work experience as a Hardware Technician, Computer Repair Technician, or similar role, with hands-on experience in hardware installation, troubleshooting, and repair. Strong knowledge of computer hardware components, architecture, and assembly techniques, with proficiency in diagnosing and repairing hardware issues. Familiarity with diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and soldering techniques used in hardware repair and maintenance. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment. Customer service-oriented attitude, with excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and vendors. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites for onsite support and service calls as needed.
